Welcome! I’m Sandra
Certified Cat Behavior Consultant and Companion Animal Nutritionist
I created The Feline Consultant to help cat guardians navigate behavior and health concerns. In many cases, behavior and nutrition overlap—which is why clients often come to me with a mix of clinical nutrition questions and behavioral concerns. There are rarely quick fixes, but with patience and the right plan, meaningful change is absolutely possible.
My education as a cat-friendly certified Veterinary Assistant helps me understand your veterinarian’s diagnosis and how diet changes or nutritional supplements may support your cat. I’m always happy to work alongside your veterinarian to support your cat’s quality of life.
My Background
Ongoing Masters Education (2024–2027)
✔️ Since March 2024, I have been a master's student in the OMALS master's program at Virginia Tech, with a concentration in Animal Welfare and Behavior (graduation with an MSc in Animal Behavior in 2027).
Foundation in Food Science & Companion Animal Nutrition
✔️ I hold a B.S. of Food Science from the Technical University Berlin, and certification in Companion Animal Nutrition from the University of Illinois
✔️ I draw from 28 years of experience about ingredients and formulating complete and balanced dry or wet diets, treats and supplements.
